The latest HSE statistics on Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSDs) show that in 2017, although WRMSDs have reduced from previous years, they still account for 8.9 million working days lost in the UK alone! With 507,000 reported cases over the year, that’s a whopping 17.6 days lost per incident. No company can afford to lose staff for that length of time, and no employee wants to be off work for that length of time.
- 44% of working days that were lost were due to work-related upper limb disorders;
- 36% of working days lost were due to back disorders; and
- 20% of working days lost were due to work-related lower limb disorders.
